“I began [working with] Kickstart Arts back when it was Big Wig Youth Theatre, about 7 years ago. Over the years I have met amazing people, created great memories and hone my skills in improvisation. I have participated in heaps of Big Wig and Kickstart Arts event and projects over my time with the company such as various soup and stories nights, writing and performing in short films, training with Jason James to hold improvisation sessions with Taroona High and participating in a sculpture slam! I have loved every minute with the group and it has helped me with not only provisation but everyday things such as self confidence, public speaking abilities, expanision of the imagination and a crazy place outside of everyday life to release and let go!”

George Williams
“There is a certain freedom found in improvisation and other art forms that cannot be easily matched in day to day life. It is this freedom - the freedom to do what ever enters my head - that I enjoy most. The fact that people might enjoy watching is an added, perhaps unwarrented, bonus.”

Hello, I’m in grade 10 at Ogilvie High School. I am a House Drama Captain and have been involved with Kickstart arts and Big Wig for 6 years. We’ve made two short films which were a lot of fun and have had had many soup and stories nights with Big Wig. We’ve performed to Grade 10 Taroona high school students and are now polishing our improvisation skills with Jason James and Andrew Harper. Being a part of the production crew has helped me so much with my improvisation skills and with my confidence in performing.
“There was never yet an uninteresting life. Such a thing is an impossibility. Inside of the dullest exterior there is a drama, a comedy, and a tragedy.”
