ABOUT KICKSTART ARTS INC.
Kickstart Arts is a Community Cultural Development company based in Hobart Tasmania, working statewide in cross-sectoral partnerships to produce inclusive, innovative multi-arts projects with communities.
Kickstart Arts projects foster positive psychology, especially amongst young people, assisting them to face the future with a sense of hope and optimism. Young people are held at the centre of the community ensuring that they are not further marginalised by their youth, as they work with people of all ages, with skills and abilities from a range of sectors. Projects like The Happiness Project enlist the leadership and expertise of top artists and qualified health and community workers and educators working in collaboration, to produce high quality contemporary arts outcomes whilst facilitating social inclusion and increasing the creative capacity of young Tasmanians.
Aims :
To foster intercultural understanding and social inclusion in the Tasmanian community through powerful story driven arts projects.
To create arts experiences that facilitate positive psychology across the community in the face of climate change
To increase the creative capacity of young Tasmanians and facilitate their active involvement in the community as contributors to cultural life.
To work in partnership with other sectors – brokering connections between education, arts, health, environment, community and private sectors.
To enhance and extend our real world art making projects with networking and ideas sharing on a global scale by the creative and strategic use of digital and on-line technologies.
To provide sound governance and responsible management of the organisation with a view to long-term sustainability.

We celebrate the power of art to transform. The mission of Kickstart Arts Incorporated is to foster the expression of our identity and experiences and the exploration of our dreams and aspirations as Tasmanians, through creating bold and challenging art in and with communities.
Background
Kickstart Arts has been working in cross-sectoral partnerships to deliver ambitious creative arts health and wellbeing projects that target disadvantaged groups in Tasmania for eighteen (18) years. Between 1992 – 2011 Kickstart Arts Inc worked directly with 6000 community members across Tasmania. In this same period audiences of more than 41,000 people viewed over 250 Kickstart Arts events. Independent professional evaluations show the company has consistently achieved high levels of success in positive health and wellbeing outcomes for participants in our projects.
